H&M
"Notes on Being" Spring 2025 Ad Campaign

May 2025
For its Spring 2025 campaign, H&M embraces a refined sense of stillness with Notes on Being, a visual narrative that strips away the noise of high-street fashion to reveal a study in texture, silhouette, and human connection. Captured by photographer Sam Rock and guided by the creative vision of H&M Creative Director Eliana Masgalos alongside Albert Moya, the campaign leans into a strictly curated aesthetic of editorial minimalism. The project eschews dramatic environments, opting instead for a stark white studio backdrop where the interplay of light and shadow becomes the primary focus. With casting by Piergiorgio Del Moro, the ensemble features talent including FKA Twigs, Caroline Polachek, and Tyla, whose poised and introspective presence grounds the collection. The styling by Kate Phelan emphasizes a neutral color palette of beige, cream, and monochrome, highlighting the tactile quality of leather, structured tailoring, and sheer, layered fabrics. Utilizing high-key lighting and precise studio strobe techniques, the imagery captures a series of intimate, shared moments that transcend traditional commercial portraiture. The result is a sophisticated exploration of modern wardrobe staples, where the focus remains sharp on clean lines, subtle embellishments, and the organic interaction between the subjects. Notes on Being functions as an elegant masterclass in restrained fashion communication, demonstrating how a monochromatic vision can feel both expansive and deeply personal.
