Fear of God
Athletics 2023 Ad Campaign

Nov 2023
The Fear of God Athletics 2023 campaign marks a pivotal fusion of high-fashion sensibility and functional sportswear, masterfully orchestrated under the creative direction of Jerry Lorenzo. Photographed by Nadav Kander, the campaign series channels a profound sense of architectural minimalism, utilizing clean, symmetrical compositions and a muted, earthy color palette to elevate athletic silhouettes. The imagery relies heavily on studio strobe lighting to create soft, diffused textures, while natural light setups emphasize the ethereal, contemplative quality of the collection. By leaning into editorial minimalism, the project treats performance garments as conceptual art; models such as Diane Chiu, Quannah Chasinghorse, Taemin Park, and Fabien Naivo are transformed into anonymous, sculptural figures through the strategic use of reflective visors and hooded layering. The execution employs sophisticated techniques, including long-exposure motion blur and pristine mirror-like reflections on water and glossy surfaces, which serve to ground the collection in a serene, almost surreal environment. Every frame emphasizes a seamless transition between human form and technical fabric, highlighting the juxtaposition of voluminous, unstructured shapes against high-performance detailing. This campaign reads as an exploration of quiet strength, where the stark, monochromatic background serves only to amplify the precision of the design and the sophisticated, futuristic vision inherent in every garment.
