Te Ūaka
Brand Identity

Apr 2021
McCarthy developed the brand identity for Te Uaka, The Lyttelton Museum, focusing on a modular typographic system built from circular and rectangular geometric elements. The identity utilizes a stark monochrome palette to establish a clean, architectural aesthetic across both physical and digital touchpoints. The project spans diverse collateral including printed publications, signage, and digital UI layouts. Across these applications, the custom font system maintains a high-contrast visual rhythm, utilizing bold geometric letterforms that function as both branding and structural design elements. The execution leans into a minimalist graphic design approach, ensuring a cohesive presentation of the museum's identity from stationary and posters to web navigation.
