Max Mara

Spring 2024 Ad Campaign
Date

Feb 2024

Description

For the Spring 2024 ad campaign, Max Mara leans into a masterclass of architectural minimalism, bridging the gap between high-end luxury fashion and the raw, brutalist aesthetics of the iconic Breuer building. Under the sharp creative direction of Ian Griffiths and Magnus Berger, the campaign masterfully juxtaposes the fluid, premium textures of silk, satin, and knitwear against the cold, unyielding surfaces of concrete and stone. Photographer and director Craig McDean brings a sophisticated eye to the imagery, utilizing a strategic blend of studio strobe and soft natural light to emphasize the clean, geometric lines of the collection. With models Felice Nova Noordhoff, He Cong, and Karolina Spakowski captured in sleek, polished styles, the work prioritizes an editorial perspective that celebrates the monochromatic color palettes of the season. Stylist Tonne Goodman crafts looks that feel both structured and effortless, perfectly complemented by Orlando Pita's neat, pulled-back hair and Diane Kendal’s understated makeup. The campaign serves as a testament to the power of environmental storytelling, using the location's rugged textures as a foil for the refined, architectural silhouettes of the garments. The result is a series of portraits that function as both commercial assets and artistic studies in modern luxury, firmly grounding the Max Mara aesthetic in a space where fabric and structure exist in perfect, resonant equilibrium.
