Dsquared2
Icon New Generation Spring 2025 Ad Campaign

Feb 2025
For the Dsquared2 Icon New Generation Spring 2025 ad campaign, the brand leans into a meta-theatrical exploration of its own creative process, blurring the lines between subject and spectator. Under the creative direction of Dean and Dan Caten, the campaign finds its visual heartbeat in the tension between high-end fashion and the raw, utilitarian world of production. Photographer Giampaolo Sgura captures model Bách in a series of intimate, studio-based vignettes that prominently feature camera gear—tripods and recording monitors—as key props. This aesthetic choice transforms the studio space into a playground of editorial minimalism, where the camera equipment itself becomes a fashion accessory. The execution utilizes a sophisticated mix of cinematic lighting and studio strobe techniques, oscillating between high-contrast warmth and subtle blue-toned highlights that lend the images a polished, narrative depth. Whether through the direct, focused gaze of the talent or the framed perspective of live-action technique displays on LCD screens, the project speaks to a generation that values the behind-the-scenes reality as much as the finished aesthetic. By anchoring the collection in such a grounded, minimalist environment, Dsquared2 successfully elevates its streetwear roots into a broader, more aspirational lifestyle discourse, proving that the tools of creation can be just as iconic as the clothes themselves.
