About

For the Salomon Black Edition campaign, photographer Julian Schulz captures the stark intersection of high-performance athletics and raw alpine environments. The series leans into a minimalist aesthetic, utilizing monochromatic palettes and high-contrast lighting to highlight the intricate relationship between technical apparel and desolate, snow-covered terrain. The project emphasizes scale and isolation, framing solitary runners against expansive, mountainous backdrops. Through the use of analogue film and grainy textures, the imagery focuses on the tactile details of the winter landscape—from the crystalline structure of packed snow to the mechanical precision of trail-running gear.
