Gap
Kids 'Just dance.' 2024 Ad Campaign

Jul 2024
Gap returns to its heritage of effortless cool and rhythmic energy with its 2024 Just Dance ad campaign, a vibrant exploration of movement and personal expression tailored for a new generation. Directed by Charlie Di Placido with creative oversight from Associate Creative Director Liz Polley and Art Director Lottie Markworth, the project leans into the brand’s iconic High Street Fashion roots while prioritizing authentic, joyful spontaneity. Photographer Amy Troost masterfully captures this spirit, utilizing a combination of studio strobe lighting and natural light to emphasize the rich textures of signature denim and logo-heavy streetwear. With choreography by Ysabelle Caps, the campaign features talent including Jon Heder and Efren Ramirez, who bring a playful, kinetic presence that perfectly complements the collection’s casual, layered aesthetic. The campaign utilizes a clean, minimalist visual language—often set against stark gym backgrounds or neutral studio backdrops—to ensure that the vibrant color-blocked windbreakers and structured denim cargos remain the focal point. By weaving together high-energy dance sequences with candid group portraits, the team crafts a narrative that feels both nostalgic and distinctly contemporary. This commercial project effectively positions Gap as a staple for youthful, active lifestyles, employing a live-action technique that highlights the movement of the collection while maintaining the bright, crisp polish synonymous with premium fashion advertising.
