Banana Republic
Summer 2024 Ad Campaign

May 2024
The Summer 2024 ad campaign for Banana Republic serves as a masterclass in editorial minimalism and aspirational lifestyle branding. Under the creative direction of Ben Segal, the campaign leans into a Mediterranean-inspired aesthetic that prioritizes tactile richness and relaxed sophistication. Captured by photographer Josh Olins, the visuals favor the golden hour's warm glow to emphasize the organic textures of linen, crochet, and structured tailoring. Throughout the series, the interplay of light and shadow—utilizing techniques ranging from high-key natural light to moody, low-key chiaroscuro—creates a cinematic quality that elevates the brand's quintessential summer wardrobe. Whether featuring models Taylor Hill, Ibby Sow, Marlon Teixeira, or Melodie Vaxelaire, the imagery captures intimate, candid moments that feel both aspirational and deeply human. From the architectural depth of rustic, weathered walls to the serene blues of coastal settings, the campaign avoids the overtly commercial in favor of a narrative-driven approach. The production is meticulously grounded by the art direction of Sophie Townsend and set design by Max Bellhouse, ensuring that the environment always complements rather than competes with the collection. This project perfectly encapsulates the modern luxury fashion house ethos, where the art of living well is woven seamlessly into every frame, resulting in a cohesive visual journey that celebrates the ease and elegance of the season.
