Description

The Soaked Summer 2026 campaign for Rains masterfully captures the intersection of technical performance and aquatic movement, defining a fresh aesthetic for the modern sportswear industry. Photographed by Philip Messmann with art direction by Fabio Caldera, the series leans into a high-key studio environment where water serves as the central protagonist. By integrating elements like studio strobe lighting and high-speed freeze techniques, the imagery transforms simple athletic silhouettes into a study of texture, where wet skin and damp garments contrast sharply against clinical, grid-tiled backdrops. Fashion editor and stylist Mathilde Storm curates a wardrobe of neoprene tank tops, cut-out bodysuits, and textured shorts that appear both functional and highly editorial. The models—Badhiel Lony Nyang, Carolina Fernandes, and Siegfried Blanche—deliver dynamic, cinematic poses that play with light refraction and submersion, effectively anchoring the brand’s identity within a minimalist, ethereal space. This project excels by emphasizing the tactile interaction between fabric and liquid, moving beyond traditional commercial photography to embrace a refined, lifestyle-oriented narrative. Under the production guidance of Anne Sofie Schandorff, the campaign maintains a cohesive visual language that feels both precise and fluid, successfully positioning the collection as an essential, high-performance staple for the coming season while underscoring the label's commitment to clean, contemporary design.
