Prada
Fall 2023 Ad Campaign

Jul 2023
Prada continues to redefine the boundaries of luxury fashion with its Fall 2023 ad campaign, a masterclass in editorial minimalism that finds profound beauty in the intersection of the human form and the organic world. Under the visionary creative direction of Miuccia Prada, Raf Simons, and Ferdinando Verderi, the campaign eschews busy environments for a stark, absolute black void, allowing the collection’s intricate textiles and structural silhouettes to command total attention. Photographer Willy Vanderperre utilizes precise studio strobe lighting to carve out each subject, from the tactile wool of a navy hooded coat to the delicate, crochet-like lace on a skirt, while maintaining a cinematic quality that elevates the images beyond traditional commercial photography. The inclusion of stellar talent, including Benedict Cumberbatch, Letitia Wright, and Hunter Schafer, lends a quiet, contemplative poise to the narrative. Central to the visual dialogue is the interplay between the subjects and oversized, solitary botanical specimens—curving stems and vibrant pitcher plants—which inject a surreal, sculptural tension into the frame. Styled by Olivier Rizzo, the campaign leans into a sophisticated, high-contrast aesthetic that feels both futuristic and fundamentally grounded, proving that even within a clean, austere composition, the details of craftsmanship and the natural world can create a resonant, evocative story that feels distinctly and undeniably Prada.
