About

W Magazine China presents 'wake up in 2000,' a series of conceptual fashion editorials directed by Kong DaShan. The project employs a theatrical, surreal aesthetic, juxtaposing life-sized models against miniature diorama environments to explore themes of scale and nostalgia. Photographer Trunk Xu captures these staged tableaus, utilizing symmetrical compositions and soft lighting to frame the subjects within constructed scenes ranging from ballet studios to classroom settings. The editorial incorporates a playful graphic sensibility, highlighting contemporary styling by Austin Feng. Supporting the visuals, MingHu Zhang provides sleek hair styling while Clive.x contributes refined beauty makeup, completing the series' highly structured, artistic narrative.
