Marc Jacobs
"Essentials" Fall 2024 Ad Campaign

Oct 2024
The Marc Jacobs Essentials Fall 2024 campaign serves as a masterclass in urban surrealism, perfectly blending the gritty texture of New York City with the brand’s signature high-fashion accessibility. Orchestrated under the creative direction of Marc Jacobs, the campaign features a dynamic ensemble including Adriana Lima, Joan Smalls, and Lourdes Leon, each captured through a distinct lens that leans into both editorial precision and playful scale play. Photographers Valentin Herfray and Clinton Hild deploy a mix of natural light and high-impact flash to anchor these luxury accessories within the metropolitan sprawl. The visuals utilize a variety of techniques, ranging from live-action cinematic framing to whimsical 3D renders and CGI, which insert oversized iterations of iconic totes and crossbody bags into the city’s skyline, effectively transforming everyday infrastructure into an avant-garde runway. Through the strategic use of wide-angle and fish-eye perspectives, the project captures the frantic, stylish energy of the city, utilizing everything from subway stations to taxi fleets as a backdrop for the collection. With expert styling by Jermaine Daley and meticulous production design by Matt Jackson, the campaign feels both grounded in reality and delightfully unhinged, proving that even the most functional accessory can command a massive, surreal presence within the chaos of the urban environment.
