The Balvenie

The Balvenie · Brand Identity

The Balvenie brand identity project translates the heritage of the single malt Scotch whisky distillery into a series of tactile, artisanal visual assets. Developed by Here Design in collaboration with paper illustrator Owen Gildersleeve, the project centers on hand-crafted paper art installations that provide an organic, dimensional frame for the product packaging. Each execution—spanning both motion design and static photography—integrates layered cut-outs, folded florals, and sculptural elements to mirror the craft inherent in the whisky-making process. The visuals lean into warm, earthy color palettes and sophisticated studio lighting to highlight the texture of the paper and the amber hues of the spirit. By prioritizing paper art and tactile design, the identity creates a cohesive, premium aesthetic that emphasizes the human element behind the brand.
