Bibliographical Society of America · Brand Identity

The brand identity for the Bibliographical Society of America, developed by Studio Ghazaal Vojdani and Julia Novitch, establishes a professional design system tailored for scholarly communication and institutional publishing. The identity utilizes a refined serif typography and structured, minimalist layouts to convey an academic aesthetic across various collateral, including event postcards, stationery, and publication covers. Materiality plays a central role in the execution, with designs featuring debossed letterpress details, blind embossing, and textured heavy cotton stock. The visual system integrates historical elements such as archival photography, celestial imagery, and botanical engravings. The project balances these traditional references with clean lines and a disciplined use of ink to maintain visual clarity across both digital media and physical print formats.
