Refractory · Brand Identity

Refractory’s brand identity project establishes a visual language defined by bold typography and structural precision. The work encompasses a comprehensive design system applied across stationery, editorial spreads, and physical signage, leaning into a minimalist aesthetic characterized by high-contrast layouts and clean geometric arrangements. Graphic designer Jeremy Matthews integrates industrial elements, including embossed metal surfaces and tactile textiles, to reflect the brand's focus on furniture and sculpture. The identity utilizes a palette of vibrant yellow and terracotta tones, set against monochrome photography to create a rhythmic visual structure. Through a mix of commercial graphic design and editorial layouts, the project maintains a consistent focus on material exploration and physical form.
