Penn Medicine

Penn Medicine · First Then, First Now

Penn Medicine presents First Then, First Now, a documentary-style project produced by Yard NYC that chronicles the medical heritage of the institution in Philadelphia. The piece traces a timeline from the establishment of America's first hospital and medical school through to current operations. The film utilizes a mix of cinematic B-roll and historical media collages to ground the narrative. By layering archival drawings, anatomical illustrations, and black-and-white photography with contemporary footage, the edit moves through the institution's history using motion graphics and vfx.
