Novembre Magazine · Fashion East SS26 Backstage

Photographer Oda Eide captures the raw, tactile atmosphere of the Fashion East SS26 presentation in this backstage editorial series for Novembre Magazine. The collection documents the intricate prep process, highlighting the interplay between avant-garde garment construction and utilitarian runway styling. Eide’s work leans into a gritty, documentary aesthetic, frequently employing direct flash to accentuate the structural details of deconstructed sportswear, layered draping, and experimental accessories. The imagery moves fluidly between intimate beauty portraits and close-up examinations of fabric, highlighting key textures from distressed knits to technical athletic textiles. By focusing on the candid mechanics of the show—from makeup application and garment fittings to the assembly of casting boards—the project offers a visceral look at the behind-the-scenes world. The execution relies on a varied palette of techniques, alternating between clean, flash-lit editorial portraits and soft, natural light captures that reveal the authentic energy of the backstage environment.
