New Old Now · Mama, Why The Butterflies?

Mama, Why The Butterflies? is an editorial project from New Old Now that explores movement and human interaction within industrial environments. The series utilizes natural light and desaturated color palettes to emphasize texture and form across a range of staged compositions. Photographer Hannah Scott-Stevenson captures the subjects in settings ranging from stark parking garages to controlled studio spaces. The visual narrative incorporates elements of chiaroscuro and analog-style aesthetics, highlighting the performers through intentional staging. Fashion stylist Bridie Gilbert rounds out the production, defining the varied sartorial direction throughout the editorial series.
