Neutra VDL · Brand Identity

The brand identity for Neutra VDL establishes a visual system that connects the historical architectural significance of the VDL Research House with contemporary design standards. Developed by Mouthwash Studio, the project utilizes a minimalist aesthetic and structured grid arrangements to balance archival documentation with modern communication tools. Key deliverables include website interfaces, architectural guidebooks, and promotional posters that lean into clean typography and consistent layout principles. The execution relies on a refined, monochrome palette and the integration of historical photography by Julius Shulman alongside new imagery captured by Elizabeth Carababas. Web development by Jason Bradley anchors the digital presence, ensuring the identity functions across both printed collateral and screen-based interfaces. Techniques such as grainy film textures, vector line drawings, and screen print aesthetics evoke the modernist legacy of the residence while maintaining a contemporary design language.
