Ken Seiling Museum · Vintage Black Canada

The Vintage Black Canada project, commissioned by the Ken Seiling Museum, presents a visual narrative rooted in archival documentation and editorial portraiture. Photographer Alexander Jacobi captures historical interiors and cultural artifacts, juxtaposing the museum’s rustic architectural details with contemporary portraits. Featuring model Aaron Tyler Francis, the portraiture employs natural light to create high-contrast monochrome imagery. The series balances documentary-style shots of historical garments and items with editorial compositions, utilizing a grainy aesthetic to emphasize the tactile textures of the museum environment.
