Christiansborg Palace · Brand Identity

The brand identity for Christiansborg Palace bridges the gap between historical institutional presence and contemporary graphic precision. Developed by Overtone and Rasmus Thomsen, the visual system leans into an editorial and minimalist aesthetic, using bold serif typography and a clean geometric approach to reimagine the palace’s legacy. The project encompasses a versatile range of touchpoints, from physical signage and collateral to intricate motion graphics and vector design work. Photography and videography by Rasmus Hjortshøj capture the interplay between the site’s ornate classical architecture and the modern graphic interventions. The identity frequently pairs archival imagery and classical art with stark, vector-based symbols, including a refined crown emblem. By integrating clean layouts with natural light and deliberate structural framing, the work creates a cohesive visual language that maintains historical integrity while adopting a modern graphic design sensibility.
