Aqua Carpatica · Purity Test (Case Study)

Aqua Carpatica presents the Purity Test case study, a documentary-style project created by agency Cohn&Jansen JWT that examines the impact of industrial farming and fertilizer use on groundwater sources. The film utilizes a monochrome, desaturated visual approach to emphasize the textural contrasts between natural water sources and agricultural contamination. Through slow-motion live-action sequences, the narrative tracks the journey from soil and industrial runoff to rural water infrastructure and bottling facilities. Technical overlays detail the chemical pathways of nitrates in water, grounding the documentary tone in scientific observation. The production highlights the tension between land management and water purity through its focused, stark aesthetic.
