San Francisco Symphony
Brand Identity

Feb 2021
The San Francisco Symphony brand identity project, led by COLLINS, establishes a cohesive visual language that modernizes the presentation of classical music through experimental typography and a sophisticated color palette. The system spans both static and kinetic applications, integrating across outdoor installations, print collateral, and digital interfaces. The work emphasizes a clean, high-contrast aesthetic that bridges traditional performance heritage with contemporary graphic storytelling. Motion graphics and dynamic kinetic type serve as central components, animating letterforms to reflect the fluid nature of symphonic sound. Throughout the project, the focus remains on rigorous typographic geometry, whether applied to large-scale street banners, editorial publications, or UI components. This comprehensive design system balances stark monochrome fields with vibrant accent colors, creating a flexible identity adaptable to various performance contexts.
