Motorcycle Matcha
Brand Identity

Dec 2024
Motorcycle Matcha establishes a distinct brand identity for the premium tea producer, blending traditional agricultural heritage with a contemporary graphic language. The project, led by Saint-Urbain for graphic design, Alex Stein on photography, and Gur Margalit and Oli Sabin on motion, bridges the gap between Kyoto farming origins and modern minimalist aesthetics. The visual system balances clean, typographic-heavy packaging with raw, earthy documentation of tea cultivation. The brand identity leans into the juxtaposition of industrial precision and organic textures. Through a series of commercial assets, the work incorporates bold, geometric layouts and matte finishes that contrast against the natural environment of Uji tea plantations. Utilizing a palette of black, white, and earthy tones, the identity is applied across wheatpasted posters, structured packaging, and dynamic motion graphics. Each element reinforces the brand’s connection to its specific cultivars and first-flush origins through a refined and disciplined visual framework.
