Description

For the Gucci Holiday 2024 ad campaign, creative director Sabato De Sarno orchestrates a masterclass in monochromatic luxury, transforming a studio space into a cinematic vision of opulence. The campaign leans into a saturated, high-contrast aesthetic, utilizing vibrant red walls and meticulous gold architectural detailing to create a singular, immersive environment. Captured through the lens of photographer Anthony Seklaoui, the series employs precise studio strobe lighting to emphasize the rich textures of patent leather, shimmering knitwear, and the brand’s iconic GG Supreme canvas. The editorial photography moves beyond standard product shots, integrating a lifestyle sensibility that evokes the refined atmosphere of a high-end hotel lobby. Casting director Piergiorgio Del Moro brings together a high-profile ensemble, including Kendall Jenner and Jessica Chastain, whose poised, direct expressions anchor the visual narrative. Stylist Francesca Burns curates a wardrobe that balances formal tuxedo silhouettes with contemporary tweed and leather, all while keeping the focus on the house’s signature hardware and web-striped accessories. With movement direction by Yagamoto and cinematic oversight from director Marcell Rev, the project functions as a cohesive exploration of classic luxury fashion, where the interplay of deep burgundy, black, and gold creates a striking, graphic identity. This campaign succeeds by pairing traditional craftsmanship with an unapologetically bold, stylized presentation that feels both timeless and distinctly modern within the current luxury fashion landscape.
