Description

For the Burberry Summer 2024 ad campaign, creative director Daniel Lee masterfully reinterprets the heritage brand through a lens of modern editorial minimalism and raw, coastal energy. Captured by photographer Harley Weir, the project balances the house's storied equestrian legacy with a stark, contemporary visual language that shifts fluidly between sun-drenched lifestyle landscapes and high-contrast studio portraiture. The campaign features a diverse ensemble including models Ainara Aberasturi, Alva Claire, George Osborne, and João Knorr, all of whom embody a composed, cinematic stillness. Weir leverages natural light and dramatic low-key chiaroscuro techniques to emphasize the interplay between the collection's complex fabric textures—from shimmering sequins to heavy botanical knits—and the rugged, elemental settings of stone cliffs and tranquil water. By isolating subjects against deep black backgrounds or stark, jagged rock formations, the imagery strips away artifice, allowing the meticulous construction of the garments and the iconic Prorsum knight logo to take center stage. The result is an evocative series that moves beyond traditional commercial photography, leaning into a sophisticated, high-fashion narrative that feels both deeply rooted in British sensibility and strikingly global in its execution. Through precise lighting and considered composition, the campaign successfully elevates everyday apparel into a series of intimate, high-impact portraits that define the current direction of luxury fashion.
