Harley Weir
Bio
Harley Weir, a London-born photographer and director, has garnered recognition for her ability to create deeply intimate images and films that resonate with audiences across both her personal projects and esteemed editorial and commercial work. Her photography is characterized by meticulous composition and a keen sensitivity to color, establishing her as a leading voice in the realms of photography and film. Having collaborated with a multitude of luxury brands and produced consistently striking editorials, Weir has made significant strides in the industry. Her short film, “Legs Are Not Doors,” won the prestigious Milano Fashion Film Award in 2015, further cementing her reputation as a creative powerhouse. In 2017, she presented her first solo exhibition at the Foam Fotografiemuseum in Amsterdam, where her work has since been included in the museum's permanent collection. Weir is a prominent figure at major art fairs, regularly showcasing her work at Photo London and Paris Photo. Her second solo exhibition, “Homes,” debuted in September 2018 at the Brighton Biennial, curated by Shoair Mavlian, the Director of Photoworks. That same year, she launched “Pollution Brings a Foul Breeze,” a project curated by Antonia Marsh at Soft Opening, which took place in the iconic Piccadilly Circus tube station. Proceeds from this exhibition were donated to the Great British Beach Clean, an initiative by the Marine Conservation Society aimed at raising awareness about single-use plastics. To date, Weir has co-published four books, the most notable being “Homes,” released with Loose Joints, which quickly sold out and raised £10,000 for La Cimande—a charity dedicated to advocating for the rights of refugees and migrants.
