Born in the vibrant city of Barcelona, Carlota is a self-taught artist whose journey into the world of photography began in her teenage years. Renowned for her innovative approach, she masterfully intertwines photography and filmmaking with her own distinctive art direction and choreography, creating immersive visual experiences. Carlota first garnered significant attention through her collaboration with the celebrated singer-songwriter Solange, where she played a pivotal role in the artwork and art direction for the critically acclaimed album “A Seat at the Table.” This partnership laid the groundwork for further artistic exploration, leading her to collaborate with the renowned poet Rupi Kaur, where she art directed a mesmerizing live performance of Kaur’s poetry in New York. Her work is a unique fusion of feminism, nature, and performance, resulting in creations that are both subversive and ethereal. Carlota's artistic vision has attracted collaborations with prestigious global brands including Nike, Givenchy, and Dior. In addition, her contributions to esteemed publications such as Vogue Spain, Numéro, Porter, and Fader showcase her versatility and influence within the contemporary art scene. Currently, she resides in Paris, where she continues to push the boundaries of her artistic practice.
