Volkswagen Spain

Volkswagen Spain · Black Carbon

Volkswagen Spain introduces 'Black Carbon,' a cinematic automotive commercial that pivots away from traditional holiday advertising tropes. The spot centers on a single illuminated tree set within a dense, drifting fog, establishing a stark aesthetic that leans heavily into low-key lighting and high-contrast compositions. Crafted with a moody, monochrome palette, the film focuses on the vehicle's exterior design, tracking its silhouette through the atmospheric environment. The production utilizes live-action techniques to emphasize technical details like alloy wheels and signature headlight clusters, presenting the car in a sleek, stylized holiday context. Creative development was led by DDB España, with production handled by Glassy Films and Wild Pony. Glassy Films also managed post-production and VFX, while sound design and music were provided by LastCrit. Media planning for the project was overseen by PHD.
