The Untitled Magazine

The Untitled Magazine · Shade of spades

Shade of Spades is a striking beauty editorial produced for The Untitled Magazine, captured by photographer Alena Sazonova. The project explores themes of contrast and texture, utilizing an avant-garde approach to cosmetics that blends high-gloss finishes with sharp, graphic elements. Featuring makeup artistry by Suna Myles, the series employs a clean studio aesthetic to highlight complex details such as sculptural black lacquer, metallic chain accents, and dark ombré lips. The imagery relies on macro and beauty light techniques to define the interplay between light and shadow, resulting in a cohesive, polished collection of portraiture.
