Space Magazine · Seeing Itself x Sunflower x Space

Photographer Takashi Homma captures the intersection of urban life and sartorial minimalism in this expansive editorial project for Space Magazine. Titled Seeing Itself x Sunflower x Space, the work functions as a study of contemporary style, pairing candid portraiture with architectural vignettes and domestic still lifes to ground the fashion in a lived-in environment. The series leans into a tactile, documentary approach, utilizing natural light and a cool, desaturated color palette to maintain a sense of calm consistency across diverse locations. The imagery is structured through minimalist diptych layouts that bridge the gap between human subjects and the urban infrastructure that surrounds them. With styling by Sunflower and creative grooming by hair stylist Hayate Maeda and makeup artist Nobuko Maekawa, the production maintains a restrained, authentic energy. The editorial utilizes generous negative space and clean typography to highlight the interplay between high-fashion layering and everyday textures.
