Museo Arqueológico de Lanzarote

Museo Arqueológico de Lanzarote · Brand Identity

The brand identity for the Museo Arqueológico de Lanzarote serves as a masterclass in institutional restraint, seamlessly marrying the island's raw volcanic heritage with a modern, editorial approach to visual communication. Spearheaded by the design team at Folch, the project establishes a cohesive visual system that balances the museum’s academic rigor with a sophisticated, contemporary aesthetic. The identity relies on a refined use of typography—leveraging clean, sans-serif letterforms that ground the institutional voice—while utilizing soft light and intentional negative space to emphasize structural clarity. By integrating monochromatic illustrations of fossils and ancient pottery into a standardized, color-coded spine system, the design language transforms archival research into a premium, tactile experience. This corporate branding project extends beyond mere logo placement; it is a holistic architecture of identity where the matte surfaces of physical collateral, like the tan-toned hardcover publications, interact physically with the rugged textures of Lanzarote’s volcanic geography. Through a lens of minimalist graphic design, Folch has successfully curated a visual narrative that respects the museum’s ancient origins while positioning it firmly within the modern landscape of international cultural institutions. This deliberate, structured layout across all digital media and physical touchpoints reinforces a sense of permanence and prestige, proving that a minimalist framework, when executed with such precision, can be profoundly expressive and enduring.
