Esquire Magazine · Genesis Owusu 23

Esquire Magazine presents a multi-faceted editorial portrait series featuring musician Genesis Owusu. The project navigates a spectrum of moods, moving between high-contrast monochrome studio shots and vibrant, warm-toned compositions. Throughout the series, the focus remains on sharp tailoring and layered textures, utilizing styling that emphasizes structural silhouettes and contemporary apparel. The series was captured by photographers Georges Antoni and Justin Woo, who collaborated to craft a range of aesthetics from low-key chiaroscuro lighting to bright, clean-backdrop portraits. Daren Borthwick provided hairstyling, while Claudia Rose contributed videography to the project. The work leans into editorial techniques including monochrome film and natural light to showcase the performer's diverse stylistic range.
