The New Antiquarians

The New Antiquarians · Brand Identity

This comprehensive brand identity project for The New Antiquarians centers on a refined editorial system that blends historical craftsmanship with contemporary design. Designed by Elizabeth Goodspeed, the project employs a meticulous typographic language and bespoke ornamental framing to archive and present decorative motifs. Featuring photography by Brian W Ferry and Fujio Emura, the identity spans across hardcover book design, editorial spreads, and archival reference sheets. The work leans into a clean, minimalist aesthetic, utilizing precise monochrome linework and vibrant, warm-toned color blocking to elevate archival content. By balancing complex serif typography with structural grid layouts, the project establishes a cohesive visual presence that highlights design heritage through careful attention to tactile textures and classical bookbinding techniques.
