Strange Family

Strange Family · Brand Identity

Strange Family has cultivated a distinctive visual language for their latest Brand Identity project, blending the precision of commercial design with an elevated, editorial sensibility. By harmonizing disparate elements—ranging from clean, modernist still-life photography by Vada Ortiz to intricate, narrative-driven illustration by Jordan Rosenberg—the project constructs a cohesive brand world that feels both timeless and deeply tactile. The identity leans heavily into cinematic lighting and natural light, utilizing high-contrast, directional shadows to breathe texture into everyday objects, such as a matte black candle or a minimalist ceramic tray. Through the lens of Motion designer Anton Gammershmidt, the brand's graphic collateral comes alive, bridging the gap between static typography and fluid fine art. The inclusion of typewriter-style copy and delicate, thematic iconography adds a layer of intellectual sophistication, turning routine invitations and brand ephemera into storied pieces of design. Every asset, from the symmetrical architectural photography to the deliberate use of negative space, signals a commitment to structural minimalism. This is not merely a collection of assets but a carefully orchestrated ecosystem where warm, polished tones and vintage-inspired details coexist, firmly rooting the Strange Family brand in a space where professional structure meets artistic spontaneity, resulting in a refined, multi-dimensional presence.
