St Kilda FC

St Kilda FC · Eric Bana

Steeped in the storied history of the AFL, this compelling film project for St Kilda FC leans into the emotional weight of sports heritage by positioning actor Eric Bana as the voice of the club’s enduring legacy. Directed by John Stokes with a distinct cinematic flair, the piece navigates the intimate, high-stakes environment of the team locker room, transforming a standard athletic space into a theater of memory and belonging. The narrative flows with a deliberate, smooth rhythm, utilizing a sophisticated live-action technique to bridge the gap between historical reverence and contemporary professional sports culture. David Truasheim serves as the director of photography, employing soft, ambient lighting that emphasizes Bana’s thoughtful delivery while allowing the iconic red, white, and black club insignia to anchor the frame. The visual language favors an authentic lifestyle aesthetic, capturing the textured reality of the inner sanctum where the legacy of the club song meets the quiet intensity of preparation. Through careful pacing and atmospheric composition, the project elevates a traditional team brand film into a resonant piece of media and entertainment that honors the fan experience. With polished support from producer Joel Fenton and meticulous grooming by Armanda Pozzetto, the final execution succeeds as both a sophisticated brand manifesto and a visceral tribute to the club’s identity, demonstrating how refined storytelling can cultivate deep, lasting connections within the competitive landscape of professional sports media.
