Kundhardt Foundation, Apple TV · Lincoln's Dilemma (Sequence Dir. Gergely Wootsch)

This animated sequence from the Apple TV+ series Lincoln's Dilemma, produced by Kunhardt Films and Studio AKA, visualizes historical narratives through a distinct aesthetic lens. Directed by Gergely Wootsch, the project employs live-action techniques alongside animation to recreate nineteenth-century events, focusing on archival-inspired compositions. The visual approach relies on heavy sepia grading and archival grain to emulate the texture of period photography. Cinematic lighting frames key moments, from locomotive travel to public speeches, balancing historical specificity with a stylized, desaturated look.
