Project Kinfolk · It Shouldn't Cost the Earth
Kinfolk explores sculptural silhouettes and textile depth in the fashion editorial project, It Shouldn't Cost the Earth. Photographed by Tobias Delcroix, the series leans into a moody, atmospheric aesthetic, utilizing chiaroscuro lighting and desaturated color palettes to emphasize the intricate textures of the garments. The editorial features styling by Annie Hertikova, with art direction provided by Isabel Lea. Supporting the production, hair and makeup artistry was handled by Sarah Whiteside, with talent provided by models Chizoba Emmanuel and Elysia Nguyen-Thorsen. The work maintains a consistent painterly quality across its vertical compositions, set against mottled, textured backdrops.
Project Kinfolk · Tree Hugging
Tree Hugging is an editorial project for Kinfolk that explores the interplay between human subjects and the organic forms of the natural world. Shot on location in California, the series leans into an intimate, observational aesthetic, focusing on candid interactions and textured environments. Photographer Daria Kobayashi Ritch utilises natural light and analogue film techniques to capture the warmth of the outdoors. The imagery frames models against the gnarled bark and towering canopies of mature woodland, creating a grounded, earthy atmosphere complemented by hair styling from Maranda Widlund.
