Humber Street Gallery · Brand Identity

The brand identity for Humber Street Gallery serves as a masterclass in institutional navigation, blending industrial raw aesthetic with clinical, high-contrast graphic design. Developed with meticulous graphic design by Saul Studio, the identity system anchors the gallery's cultural presence through a bold, sans-serif stencil typeface and a disciplined monochromatic palette punctuated by sharp, vibrant yellow accents. This visual language extends seamlessly from high-impact exhibition posters to the functional architecture of the gallery, utilizing clear typography and grid-based layouts that honor the space's industrial heritage while maintaining a contemporary, minimalist edge. The project is an exercise in editorial minimalism, where the focus remains strictly on legibility and institutional clarity. By integrating infographics into the physical environment through wayfinding signage and printed collateral, the studio creates a cohesive dialogue between the viewer and the building itself. Whether seen through the soft light of a gallery rack display or the cinematic, moody shadows cast on a programme booklet, the branding feels inherently architectural. The work leans into a professional, commercial sensibility that successfully translates complex programmatic information into a visual experience that is as functional as it is artistic. This cohesive identity system not only facilitates visitor navigation but also elevates the gallery's communication strategy, ensuring that every touchpoint reflects a rigorous, modern standard of institutional design.
