Conceptual Work

Conceptual Work · Personal Creative Projects

Photographer and creative director Rebecca Newman explores the intersection of texture, form, and light in this expansive series of personal creative projects. Leaning into conceptual still-life photography, the work navigates the tactile qualities of organic and synthetic subjects—from fresh produce and botanical studies to complex sculptural food arrangements. Techniques such as multiple exposure, motion blur, and high-speed photography are employed to push beyond conventional documentation. The series oscillates between moody, high-contrast chiaroscuro lighting and bright, saturated studio setups, highlighting a disciplined approach to composition and color theory. By isolating everyday objects against vibrant, minimalist backdrops, the work emphasizes geometric patterns and the subtle, rhythmic details found within raw ingredients and common household items.
