Brunswick Music Festival · Brand Identity

For the 2019 Brunswick Music Festival, design studio Never Now crafted a brand identity that leans into a bold, high-contrast aesthetic perfectly suited for the gritty backdrop of an urban environment. By prioritizing a clean and functional layout, the design system utilizes striking sans-serif typography that demands attention whether viewed on a compact ticket or a large-scale poster pasted against weathered red brick walls. The identity is defined by a vibrant color palette, incorporating neon lime green and hot pink blocks alongside classic monochrome elements, creating a visual language that feels both energetic and orderly. The project showcases a sophisticated application of minimalist design principles, where varying font weights and strategic color blocking organize dense artist lineups and event details into an accessible, impactful format. Through the integration of vector-based emblems and modular graphic elements, the branding maintains a strong, cohesive presence across various touchpoints. The project thrives on the tension between the polished, modern vector art and the raw, cinematic textures of the physical city space, particularly when captured under natural light. This comprehensive approach to festival identity not only delivers essential information with absolute clarity but also embeds the event into the cultural fabric of the neighborhood, resulting in a memorable and distinctly recognizable visual signature for the 2019 season.
