Zara
'50 Years 50 Icons' 2025 Ad Campaign

May 2025
For the Zara 50 Years 50 Icons 2025 ad campaign, the retailer returns to the fundamental power of the portrait to celebrate five decades of style. Under the creative direction of Karl Templer and Jason Duzansky, the project functions as a masterclass in editorial minimalism, stripping away the extraneous to place an uncompromising focus on form, texture, and the individual presence of a legendary, diverse cast of models including Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell, and Cindy Crawford. Captured through the lens of photographer Steven Meisel, the campaign utilizes a stark, high-key aesthetic and deliberate studio strobe lighting to emphasize the clean lines of a monochromatic wardrobe. This interplay of deep blacks and crisp whites, further refined by the hair artistry of Guido and the iconic makeup expertise of Pat McGrath, highlights the sophisticated silhouettes that have defined the brand's contemporary evolution. With set design by Mary Howard anchoring each shot in an expansive, neutral space, the imagery reads as a cohesive study of enduring fashion. By leaning into an uncompromising visual language, the campaign celebrates heritage through a modern lens, proving that true style thrives in the space between meticulous tailoring and natural expression. The result is a refined, high-end fashion campaign that feels both timely and timeless in its execution.
