Volume 1 acts as a visual introduction for Side-note, establishing a rigorous design language through a series of fashion editorials. The project leans into monochrome palettes and industrial settings, balancing high-contrast portraiture with dynamic motion to emphasize garment structure and textural variety. Photographer Oliver Begg utilizes analogue film techniques to frame the subjects against urban textures like chain-link fences and concrete facades. The imagery is defined by an editorial sensibility, characterized by deliberate styling choices that prioritize tailored silhouettes and metallic hardware. Fashion styling is led by Nichhia Wippell, with hair by Daren Borthwick and make-up by Peter Beard. The work maintains a consistent aesthetic through sharp lighting and precise, clean framing.
