DAY AND NIGHT is an editorial series for Side-note that explores the interplay between light and shadow through a collection of high-fashion portraiture. Photographer Melie Hirtz leads the visual direction, capturing a range of moods from soft, clean studio aesthetics to low-key, chiaroscuro-heavy compositions. The project channels a minimalist sensibility, utilizing directional hard light and cool-toned diffusion to define form and texture. Styling by Karla Clarke and Lia Sadeghi anchors the series with clean silhouettes and statement accessories. The beauty aesthetic is marked by wet-look finishes and precise graphic accents, with hair styling by Gor Duryan and makeup by Gillian Campbell. Casting, directed by Theo Spencer, completes the execution.
