Self-Portrait
'At Home, With Self-Portrait' Fall 2023 Ad Campaign

Oct 2023
For the Fall 2023 campaign, Self-Portrait masterfully shifts the lens of luxury fashion away from the cold, clinical studio and directly into the heart of the domestic sphere. Creative Director Han Chong, working alongside Art Director Christopher Simmonds, orchestrates a narrative that feels both intimate and elevated, featuring Emily Ratajkowski as the central figure within a bustling, lived-in kitchen. The campaign leans into a relatable, lifestyle-driven aesthetic that contrasts high-fashion pieces, such as vibrant green tweed and crystal-embellished denim, against the authentic chaos of family life. Captured by photographer Nick Waplington, the imagery utilizes soft natural light to ground the collection in a warm, cinematic reality that feels entirely accessible yet distinctly editorial. Stylist Emilie Kareh balances the intricate textures of the clothing with the simplicity of the home setting, while the subtle, polished grooming provided by Shon Ju and Lauren Parsons ensures the high-fashion intent remains sharp amidst the candid snapshots of childhood play. By grounding the brand in this commercial, everyday vernacular, the project recontextualizes luxury as something meant to be worn, moved in, and lived within. Through this clever juxtaposition, the campaign successfully elevates the everyday, proving that the boundary between elevated design and domestic comfort is much more fluid than traditional high-end fashion narratives typically suggest, ultimately inviting the viewer to engage with the clothing on a deeply human level.
