Winter 2023 Ad Campaign

Description

The Saint Laurent Winter 2023 ad campaign is a masterclass in editorial minimalism, weaving the house's storied DNA with a stark, modern sensibility. Under the vision of creative director Anthony Vaccarello, the project leans into a cold, architectural language, capturing a series of high-fashion portraits and product studies against the backdrop of Paris. Photographer and director Juergen Teller orchestrates a visual narrative that thrives on contrast: the sharp, tailored lines of oversized blazers and sheer, ruffled chiffon blouses are set against the weathered, neoclassical textures of marble monuments and slate surfaces. This juxtaposition of contemporary luxury and ancient statuary elevates the campaign into a cinematic meditation on form and permanence. With casting curated by Samuel Ellis Scheinman, the campaign features models including Awar Odhiang and Freja Beha Erichsen, whose stern, composed expressions perfectly mirror the collection's severe, structural elegance. Stylist Paul Sinclaire leans into an aesthetic of polished restraint, punctuated by oversized aviators, gold hoop earrings, and the unmistakable hardware of structured handbags. Utilizing natural light to accentuate the glossy patent leathers and the fine grain of tailored wool, the imagery achieves a cohesive, rhythmic quality. This work stands as a definitive exploration of the house's evolving identity, where every shot functions as a calculated, precise reflection of luxury fashion today.
