L’Art de Déconstruire is a fashion editorial series produced for Les Echos, exploring volume and textile form through a series of dramatic, highly stylized portraits. Captured by photographer Olivia Arthur, the project features model Edwina Preston navigating a collection of avant-garde and structured garments, including tiered ruffle skirts, sculptural bodices, and intricate fringe pieces. The aesthetic leans into a moody, theatrical visual language. The execution relies on a blend of moody lighting and distinct techniques—ranging from long exposure and multiple exposure effects to monochrome and chiaroscuro-inspired grading—to emphasize the tactile quality of the fabrics. With styling by Aline De Beauclaire, hair by Takuya Uchiyama, and makeup by Seunghee Yoo, the series presents a tactile, layered approach to editorial portraiture.
