Irvington Theater
Brand Identity

Sep 2020
The rebranding of the Irvington Theater marks a masterclass in modern visual communication, skillfully bridging the gap between historical charm and contemporary graphic design. Spearheaded by the creative vision of A.A. Trabucco-Campos and the design studio Pràctica, this new brand identity leans into a modular, highly adaptable system that allows the historic venue to showcase its diverse programming—ranging from theatrical productions and comedy to film series—with unmatched clarity. The execution utilizes a sophisticated typographic hierarchy, moving fluidly between bold, dark serif fonts and clean, modern sans-serifs that anchor the brand across varied touchpoints, from outdoor billboards and printed posters to digital UI illustrations. By employing bold color blocking and strategic use of vector graphics, the designers have successfully transformed complex event schedules into a cohesive, rhythmic visual language. This editorial-minded approach creates a sense of order while maintaining a vibrant personality, effectively turning every promotional piece into a collectible work of art. The project captures the theater's spirit through a clean, minimalist lens, using natural light in its environmental photography to ground the abstract geometric motifs in the tangible reality of the Irvington space. Ultimately, this comprehensive identity system provides the theater with a flexible, enduring foundation that celebrates both its storied past and its dynamic future.
