Time Trawler is a sharp, atmospheric editorial series commissioned by Icon Magazine Australia. Exploring the intersection of precision horology and rugged maritime textures, the project features a variety of luxury chronographs and timepieces arranged within coastal and nautical environments. The work leans into a moody, high-contrast aesthetic that juxtaposes the polished, metallic surfaces of luxury watches against organic elements like mussel shells, fishing nets, and raw seafood. With creative direction by Justin Woo, the editorial utilizes macro photography to draw out intricate dial details and bezel markings. Photographer Michael Brunt captures these subjects through a combination of clean, directional lighting and chiaroscuro techniques, often employing film-inspired treatments to enhance depth. Fashion stylist Kim Payne anchors the series with curated props—ranging from vibrant ropes to oyster clusters—creating a tactile, sculptural dialogue between manufactured timepieces and the sea.
