Smokeshow is a high-octane fashion editorial for Icon Magazine Australia that masterfully bridges the gap between automotive culture and contemporary streetwear. Photographed by Simon Davidson, the project channels a raw, gritty energy through the use of analogue film and atmospheric low-key lighting. Set against the backdrop of racetrack paddocks and open-air workshops, the editorial documents a series of vintage muscle cars and their mechanical details. The visual narrative leans into chiaroscuro techniques, juxtaposing the sharp, metallic textures of engine components with billowing plumes of saturated smoke and ambient nighttime illumination. Fashion styling by Kim Payne anchors the series, featuring models in patterned puffer jackets, reflective metallic outerwear, and curated streetwear.
